UPDATE: Thanks to all your fundraising and ‘denim donning’… we’re pleased to announce we raised a total of £200 on the Demin For Dementia day. Thanks everyone for your contributions.
On Friday 20th May, double denim is acceptable. We are asking you to don your denim for a £1 donation, to help raise money for the Alzheimers Society, along with a local group in Pudsey.
Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer. Someone develops Dementia every three minutes, and there is currently no cure.
Alzheimers Society raises money to provide funding for support, through services such as Dementia Connect, which offers face to face, telephone and online advice, group services, such as Dementia Friends and Dementia Cafes, and much needed research in to new drugs and cures.

This group will be collecting a little square of denim from the public, in memory of a loved one living with Dementia, and will then put together a huge pair of jeans in their memory. They are also inviting any care homes to bring their residents on the 20th May, to Pudsey Leisure Centre, for tea/coffee, buns and free entertainment.
Please look out for the “Denim for Dementia” posters, which have hopefully been put up in your buildings.
If you are wanting to nominate a charity, please let the charity committee know, and we will be happy to assist in organising your fundraising.
A big thank you to Natalie, Nicky and Jemma for organising this, and well done to everyone who dressed up, including Anne Marie, Carolyne & Robin in these very fetching shots!
