Jemma Robinson and Nicky Buckley discuss the plans to raise money for this month’s charity St Michael’s Hospice.

“This month’s charity for June will be for “St Michael’s Hospice” in Harrogate.

This is a charity that is very close to my heart, as they looked after my Grandma on “end of life” care.

My best friend is a nurse who works at the centre in Harrogate, and sees’ first hand how fast people can deteriorate in the last stages of their life, and also the affect it has on their friends and family.

The charity offers 24/7 personalised and responsive care during the advanced stages of a person’s illness and indeed the last days of their life. Their “end of life” care services, are offered from the hospices’ building and out in the community.

St Michael’s Hospice is a community driven and funded organisation that relies on the support of individuals, businesses, other organisations, foundations, and the government.

70% of the care they provide is funded by generosity, mainly of those who choose to show their support in a variety of amazing ways – through donations, fundraising, corporate partnerships and remembering the charity in their will. Without their services, people could be left to face the complex issues and forgotten challenges of terminal illness alone.

So, this month, any donations that we raise as a company, will be given to St Michael’s Hospice, in memory of my Grandma Monica.

This month, to raise money for St Michael’s Hospice, we will be hosting Email Bingo. So get your dabbers out and have a bit of fun to raise money for this great charity.
