Congratulations to Client Manager, Lee Peters

Lee has recently received The Derek Shuttleworth Award for Outstanding Service to Recreational Cricket.

He coaches at Birstall Cricket Club and his recent performances edged him for this YCB Grassroots Cricket Award.

Its certainly been a good outing for Lee this year. He smashed for six the previous March the Month for Prostate Cancer, and now is on the front foot, winning prestigious awards.

Group Social Media Executive, Oliver Campbell, asked Lee Peters for a few words:

“I have played and coached at Birstall for 7 years. I was adopted at a young age and was given the encouragement and guidance to pursue sports from my parents, this gave me confidence and a place where I fitted in. It helped me to overcome a lot of challenges I faced as a child and kept me out of trouble throughout my childhood.”

Not having children of my own, I wanted to help children the way my parents and coaches helped me. I really think the lessons we learn in sports can be taken out to the real world. That’s what inspires me to coach and what makes it enjoyable.

Winning this award means the world to me and even though I don’t do it for validation, it feels good to know what I do matters.”

Well done Lee, and well said! Keep up the pace!
