Switching it up at Work

The brilliant Natalie Craig successfully planned out and set up a Mario Kart tournament this week which captured the interest of our offices. Using two consoles, she implemented the new breakout space and meeting rooms in Unit 6. With over 20 players competing, it’s fair to say the competition got heated.

Providing to be an excellent change of pace to the day, little events like these are one of the many attributes that differentiate The Romero Group from any other workplace. The Grand Prix championship, after a strong Rainbow Road challenge including a Verstappen-esc overtake on the last corner, saw Ryan Barton, our new Broker based in the Harrogate offices, lift the coveted trophy.

Ryan won the cash prize, with £20 also going to this month’s chosen charity – Talk Ed. Talk Ed is a national UK eating disorders organisation with over 30 years’ experience in providing personal care and support for anyone affected by anorexia, bulimia, binge eating and all types of eating distress. The charity offers a tailored person approach with ongoing emotional support and practical guidance for recovery. They also offer help not only for those who are trying to overcome the eating disorder but parents and family members who are desperately trying to help the person they love. The charity’s hope is that by supporting individuals, they can learn to manage their condition and start the journey of recovery. They regain control over their lives and work towards improving confidence, addressing low self-esteem and negative emotions. This in turn addresses their social isolation and enables them to get back to work and full life.
