In light of the success of our Total Reward Scheme, we talk to Administration Assistant, Anne Marie Redman. Anne Marie has been with the Romero Group over seven years; she has witnessed the business evolve and grow, developing both its culture and available benefits.
We ask Anne Marie about what benefits she’s taken advantage of, how easy and useful she found sections of the scheme, and what benefits she seen people utilising.
What benefit have you taken advantage of?
“I have used UK Healthcare scheme for both the dentist and the opticians. The process was very easy, I just asked for a receipt from the dentist receptionist and copied that through along with the UKHealthcare form, and they pay out your compensation in the next month.
I took advantage of the companies charitable support day, I volunteered at Christmas-time at Bradford foodbank. It was a lot of fun, a good day with the team.
I’ve bought holidays with the company, extending my days by an extra five. We could all do with that extra day, and now we can buy and sell holidays back to the company. I’ve also attended the summer and winter parties which are always fantastic.”
What other benefits have you seen workers benefit from?
“Maternity leave and the ad-hoc working from home option; I’ve seen a few need to use that benefit. Within the cost of living crisis, I think the interest free staff loan the business offers is a very good idea. I like that it’s confidential and the returns come out of your pay each month so you wouldn’t have to worry about it. The supermarket vouchers add onto this, useful for those who perhaps need it.
I also helped facilitate the mortgage specialist and pension specialist. They were booked through the day, and I think it’s great that we have the option of a financial advisor.
We also receive monthly manager 1-to-1s as well as a salary review. We do get the occasional seminar, on wellbeing or finances, led by an expert, which I do try to attend.”
How did you learn about the benefits available to you?
“Through the website as well as through our internal portal. It’s all very easy to find and navigate. We also get reminders from Victoria (Romero-Trigo, Director) or Michael (Craggs, HR) or on the intranet. They tell us what’s new or what’s coming up and what we could explore.”
How easy did you find the whole process and would you recommend the process to your colleagues?
“It’s so easy, and all the information is right there on the website. Everyone needs to be taking advantage of their chartable support day, at the very least! But yes the UKHealthcare ends up saving me a lot of money over the year, and it’s super easy to do.
I think the Total Reward Scheme is a great act from the business. You don’t get perks like this anywhere else.”
Thank you Anne Marie for your time and candour, the Total Reward Scheme looks like it’s being used to the fullest by you and your colleagues. Hopefully your words will inspire more team members to get involved and investigate how far the Total Reward Scheme can support them.
